2010 - the end of it...

it feels like only yesterday that 2010 came knocking on our doors announcing its arrival. and now it's gonna leave us behind. time's getting short huh?

how was 2010 for you? good bad? mine, i would say was a rollercoaster ride... i wont go into details, coz i hate dealing with the past. some things are just meant to be the way it happened.

yet, i know i've made mistakes and from the bottom of my heart, i apologize to everyone i've hurt and made war with. we may be entering 2011 but will we live through it? that's something we cannot push aside. i am not an angel but yes, i do get carried away by emotions and those are times the devil in me surfaced. im still a learning person, and i hope i can learn to be a better person Inshallah. again, to all of you, IM REALLY SORRY. please don't keep to heart whatever i've done. i don't want to die burdened.

and alhamdulillah, when times were trying, family and friends were around. i thank Allah for the support i've been given so far. and i pray i'll be blessed with these lovely people around me.

i have no resolutions. i make no resolutions. i've decided not to. it's useless coz i wont keep them anyway, hahaha!!

i just send du'a for health, rizq and happiness for me and my family. and i send the same du'a for you too my friends. korang pun du'akan untuk aku lah, dapat jodoh yang baik untuk aku dunia and akhirat eh??? hik hik hik...!!

~ reflections ~

im feeling quite down these few days. i donno. just too many things on my mind. im sorry i will have to talk in riddles. even expressing one's views and one's feelings nowadays needs to be censored and put in nice words. why? because only other people have hearts. i don't. im a robot what. or better still, im a statue made of stone.

haishhh....

oh to the both of you who just got married, my du'a for you is - Baraka Allahu Lakuma, wa Baraka alaikuma, Wa jamaah baina kuma fee khair. i know the invitation didn't come to me but still i pray the best for both of you. im just too old to bear grudges already. tak lama lagik nak masuk kubur, so nak bengkak2 hati pun tak gunakan. sincerely from the bottom of my heart, i wish you both a wedded bliss till the end of your hayats, inshallah, Ameen...

recently, some things surfaced which really saddened me. people whom i thought are my own. people who won't break my heart and will never be calculative, in the end have shown their true faces. i can't tell you how dissapointed i am. i can't believe how people can just change before i can blink my eyes. and i tot of them as my own. *sigh*

i donno lah. i feel so muddle-headed. i just feel like going somewhere alone. but again, i can't. people will start saying, lah, takkan merajuk. see, they can merajuk, i can't.

all i can do is pray everything will slowly get better. i can't bear the unhappiness anymore. and for the life of me, i WILL NEVER SUGGEST ANYTHING AGAIN. EVER.

haish... whatever lah. yg penting, i'm really sad. thanks for making me feel really alone. thanks for making me feel not wanted. thanks for making me feel guilty. i shall shut my mouth from today on.

thanks eh.

Hotel Review: Kozi Hotel (Danga Bay)

Kozi Hotel
08, Block 6, Danga Bay,
Jalan Skudai,
80200 Johor Bahru.
Tel : +607-2389001
Fax : +607-2389006
Room rates : MYR88 - MYR138
Free Wifi service at lobby

I wouldn’t say it’s a bad stay, but I wouldn’t say it’s a good stay also. If I had topped up the per night charges by a mere $50 Singapore Dollars, I would have gotten a stay in a 4-star hotel somewhere along Pantai Lido.

But anyway, the review, here goes.

Minus – When I called them to make a reservation, they said the hotel is in Danga Bay itself. When we reached Danga Bay, we couldn’t find it. Actually, it’s not in Danga Bay. It’s 5 minutes drive from Danga Bay.

Plus – We reached earlier than checking in time, but they helped us with providing us the earliest available room. In about ½ an hour to 45 mins, we got all our 5 rooms.

Minus – Room was amazingly SMALL. Even for the superior twin rooms. I mean I’m not asking for a huge space lah but at least a comfortable space to do our solat. In my room, when doing solat, I needed to take care of my butt not knocking the edge of a side table. In my cuzzin’s room, he had to watch his head so as to not knock against the edge of the writing table.

There’s no carpet on the floor. And they don’t provide extra bed/mattress. Book your extra pillows early, if not there are no pillows. Me and my sis had to sleep on my car cushions while the dad and mum used the hotel pillows.

Plus – the airconditioning worked fine. Tv was fine. Toilet was fine. Budget hotels usually need keys to open doors. This one uses an electronic card. The wallpapers in each room are nice. But website shows the room is wallpapered throughout. Bedek, only one wall is wallpapered.

Minus – Reception was a bit rude too. When I asked whether they have a musollah at ground floor, she said, “sembahyang kat bilik ah!” Yeah, as if your bilik is like a castle’s room. And there was no mention of where to get food and all that. Although there’s a restaurant beside the hotel, we only got to know of a better foodplace – Singgah Selalu – opposite the hotel when we asked.

Minus – No lift. We have to go up donno how many flights of stairs just to get to our room. For families with senior citizens suffering from leg problems, this hotel is a definite no-no.

Plus – They have no underground parking but the parking lots are just outside the hotel at the doorstep. From my room, I could see my car through my window.

Minus – this one takes it all. At night, I couldn’t sleep at all, because the hotel faces a huge road and you know what went on the whole of that Saturday night? Illegal motorcycle races, or the rempits. Walauwey, whole night ley! I was tired from the activities during the day. I thought I could sleep easy but no, the noise of motorcycles rempit-ing started at about 12am and it went on till about 3am. Till I couldn’t take it and swallowed two piriton pills and managed to doze off at donno what time. I know it’s not the hotel’s fault but when you have ears as sensitive as mine, you’ll understand how I feel. Hahahaha..!! What torture.

5 minus-es and 3 plus-es. You do your Maths. I don’t really recommend the hotel lah. Unless you are really on a tight budget and has kids who needs a bit of rest after the whole day activity at Danga Bay, I suggest you take the family room which is larger than then the superior twins room that I took. I would have taken the family room if not for the fact that all of it has been booked.

But in any case, I give my thumbs up to Danga Beach, Danga Themepark and Danga Zoo! The place is awesome. Especially the zoo. It’s hundred times better than Singapore Zoo coz you get close and personal with the little animals like rabbits, snakes and I even got to touch a tiger. HOW AWESOME IS THAT!

Danga Beach
Nothing much, just walking along the waters of Pantai Lido. There's ferry ride and train ride you can take.

Danga Theme Park

The themepark starts their activities at 3pm onwards. The rides are more for little kids. But I still took the rollercoaster hahaha!! Rides can cost you RM4 to RM10.

Danga Petting Zoo

The zoo is the one to go to. It’s RM10 per adult but if you know how to negotiate, the front staff can give you discount. It’s worth the money I would say. There are shows at 8.30pm and 10.30pm so be sure to do your timing!

If you are lucky enough, you can touch the tiger, like I did! Hehehehe...!!

Danga Rumah Limas

And oh, I forgot to mention Rumah Limas. Rumah Limas is an area where you can get to see the different types of kampungs available in Malaysia. Like Kampung Muar, Kampung Alor Setar, Kampung Melaka, you know, the likes... But this one is good if you go in the day. We went at night and well, you know, kampung houses at night don't look that nice as they do in the day. They are no lights in the house, so sapa berani can open the door and peak inside ah. I didnt pull that stunt mwahahahaha...!!! This one is free entry.

Ok chiows!!

disclaimer: but i still think Ramy Ayach is way hotter. this guy seems like he's got a beer belly. huak huak huak!

The Lover Who Saved His Beloved From Drowning...

This is a lovely poem I read from the book, "Conference of The Birds" by Author Farid Ud-Din Attar.

A girl fell in a river
In a flash, her lover dived in with a mighty splash
And fought the current till he reached her side
When they were safe again, the poor girl cried,
"By chance I tumbled in, but why should you come after me and hazard your life too?"
He said, "I dived because the difference of "I" and "You" to lovers makes no sense
A long time has passed when we separate
But now that we have reached this single state
When you are me and I am wholly you
What use is it to talk of us as two?"
All talk of two implies plurality -
When two has gone, there will be UNITY

-----------------------||---------------------------

I love this poem. *swoon*

Sami Yusuf 2010: No Word Is Worthy

hear the song.
Masha Allah. Lovely song.

He sings in English, Urdu, Persian and Malay this time round. Malay lyrics provided by Malaysian Singer, Yasin Sulaiman.

Ilal Liqaa...!!

i nearly made someone fly like a superman...

and i still have goosebumps thinking about it. stupid nonsense person.

story goes.. yesterday while driving at night, on the right lane, with no cars in front of me. so the devil in me was speeding. i was at 100km/h on a normal road. *so you can imagine i always ter-over speed when im on the expressway, hee!*

anyway, there i was, listening to Al-Quran recital over IKIM radio and speeding at the same time, SUDDENLY, i saw a man appearing out of nowhere from the central divider, trying to cross the road without looking to his left. HE WAS LOOKING TO HIS RIGHT WITH HIS LEFT FEET ALREADY ON THE ROAD!!

i did a brake and horned at him at the same time. i startled him and he startled me more. there was a huge urge to stop and maki him upside-down. but i was on the right lane. there were cars behind me.

what a close shave! if had not braked or if he had put his remaining right leg on the road, i would have made him fly like a superman. the space between him and my car, was very near. 1st thing, he was jaywalking. 2nd thing, he was looking to his right. who the blardy hell look to the right when you wanna cross the road!? traffic in spore comes from the left lah dey!! where you come from, man!!???

while zooming past him, i gave him the killer stare. he looks like someone who i think i know comes from where. but please lah, wherever you come from, obey the rules lah. i nearly sweep you off with my car ley!! that has never happened to me and naudzubillah min zaalik, i hope it will never happen!

what a close shave. lucky thing i was cool enuff to recompose myself. dad was asking whether i need him to take over the driving. but i was fine, Alhamdulillah. we reached our destination safely.

PS: and this happens the day after i saw a horrific aftermath of an accident on Pioneer Road North. Mitsubishi Evo car crashed with a Comfort Cab. Cab hit traffic light and pinned down a guy on a bicycle who is waiting at the traffic light. both Evo and cab looked like crushed cans of Coke. i wonder if the cyclist is fine. looking at the crumpled bicycle under the cab gave me the goosebumps.

haiz... mcm2 lah... so drivers out there, be alert and drive safe. we are not always at fault. some irresponsible people makes things difficult sometimes.

wrong pillow...

salah bantal lah. seriously, i catch no balls to what is the meaning of salah bantal. aku pakai bantal sama jugak. aku tido yang mcm hapa sampai leher terkehel, bantal pulak disalahkan uwahahahaha...!!

but yeah, on Saturday, i woke up with the neck so stiff, i tot i was paralysed. but then, everything else was moving so i got the real story in the end. went to the market with mum to go to bank and the same time to get myself koyok aka medicated plaster. was quite worried too coz that day i had a lot of driving to do.

i think the koyok worked wonders. you all, ditch the tiger balm ones, that one not good. use the Panaflex ones. super magic. alhamdulillah, the pain started to subside.

today, Wednesday, the pain is back. turning left and right possible to do. looking down is the epic to do. and it gets uncomfortable as and when. and got no time to get Panaflex koyok also. chet.

i have yet to do my homework/revision. how to do homework with  a neck like this? how to look at my book and notes?

but in any case, im not going to let this be a reason untuk jadik pemalas. i'm wearing yellow and black today, and i look like a bumble bee, so i shall fight like a bumble bee. akan ku harungi sakit perit untuk jadik orang pandai, chehwah...!

anyway, i had this weird idea in my mind when i couldnt stand the pain just now. i got reminded of the film Shutter. no need to explain ah, i think you all know. but naudzubillah, ni lah otak working overtime. It's just neck-pain Yun, no need to think of anything else. Ok?

wish me speedy recovery!!

Ramayana The Epic - In 3D

i have always been a fan of the Hindu mythology - Ramayan(a) - since i was a little kid. Coz i was bought in somewhat like a indian household, with an overdose of indian movies and songs hehehehe, so the interest was there...

The whole Ramayan(a) epic was so heroic. I tell you a bit, k?

The tale happend in Ayodhya. King Dashrath was to crown his eldest son, Ram, as the king of Ayodhya. Keikeyi, Dashrath's 2nd wife, wanted him to banish Ram and daughter-in-law Sita to the jungles because she wants her son, Bharath to be the king of Ayodhya. Because the King had a favour to return to his 2nd wife, he couldn't say NO and Ram and Sita were ordered to be banished to the jungles. Laxman, Ram's brother followed them.

In exile, Surphanaka, sister of the demon king Raavan, got attracted to Ram and wanted him to marry her. But Ram refuses, saying that he has vowed to have only one wife and that is Sita. Surphanaka then wanted Laxman to marry her but Laxman also refuses saying that his duties are only towards his brother and sister-in-law. Suphanakha was humiliated and in a fit of rage, tried to attack Sita. Laxman cuts her nose off in the fight.

Demon king Raavan got news of this. He promised to kidnap Sita to avenge for his sister's humiliation. Disguised as a saint, he went to ask for food from Sita. But beforehand, Sita was told by Laxman not to cross a 'laxman-rekha' line because both Ram and him will be going out hunting. But because Sita was a soft-hearted person, she made the decision to cross the line and give food to the saint who turns out to be Raavan.

Sita was kidnapped and Raavan wants Ram to come and fight him to get Sita back.

Thus started the war of Ramayana.

And NOW, India has come out with their own 3D version of the mythology. HOW WONDERFUL IS THAT? but sadly, i dont think this movie will ever be shown in Singapore. So I hope for the 2nd best, the DVD. I so badly wanna watch the movie coz why? The promos are amazing. Have a look yourself!!

PS: I've always got a soft-spot for Laxman. The heroic guy who stands by his brother and who is the protector of his sister-in-law although he is Ram's step-brother and the son to Keikeyi, the evil queen. Lucky he looks handsome in this movie. Mwahahahahaha...!!!

Oh! And another trivia, Juhi Chawla has done the voice-over for Sita.

Maybe I can as for this DVD for my birthday present, hehehehe....???? *wiggles eyebrows*

Food Review: Chicken Champ @ Bussorah

me and ukhti had decided that after our exam last saturday, we would have our lunch at the kedai makan 2 doors down that is Chicken Champ by Nuradee Bros.

so on the day itself, i was looking forward to the lunch rather than the exam bwahahahaha... but anyhow, we reached about 1.15pm. pretty empty. and well, i think we know why. Arab Street gets busier when the day gets darker hehehehe...!!!

we took our seats. promptly attended to by a lady staff. 1st thing we asked whether they accept NETs as a payment mode. no NETs, it's all cash. oh ok... so we got down to ordering. i was pondering over fish n chips, black pepper chicken chop or their submarine sandwiches (the ones they say ala2 subway). but then i settled for fish n chips. coz i tot sandwiches won't fill up my tank hehehehe...!! and i've always love fish more than any other meat.

ukhti ordered the 2-piece chicken meal. and we ordered a side-dish - onion ring.

done with the orders, i walked over to Raffles Hospital to withdraw money. coz we have no cash on hand and pity Ukhti, coz she was having a flu. on my way there, Ukhti called to say fish n chips not available at the moment. aik, tadik aku order tak cakap apa2 pun. so settled for the next big thing, black pepper chicken chop.

withdrew money and walked back. still our food hasnt arrived. the drinks were on the table, and shortly after, the onion rings.

ONION RINGS

Onion Rings were good. In fact a little better than Burger King (BK is the only one which sells them, right?). And I dont remember tasting an inch of oil in it. Or maybe I was very hungry hahahaha...!! The only little downside, they dont have the small pirings to put the chili sauce in. But takde hal lah, we just poured chilli sauce over the onion rings itself.

Both the Black Pepper Chicken Chop and the 2-piece Chicken Meal came a while later.

You know, one thing I quite don't fancy about certain Chicken Chop is how liat the chicken is. And it will take me years to chow-down one bite. Al-maklum, gigi kan sensitif mwahahahaha...!! As I stared at the dollops of sauce on the chicken, I was thinking, "Oh dear, this is going to get really messy if I end up using my hands."

I WAS WRONG. The chicken was so soft that it was so easy to cut using plastic cutleries. And taste-wise, I think I would rate it one of the best chicken meals I've ever had. The sauce, although not pure black pepper, it has mayonnaise in it too, is of the right blend of taste. Not too spicy, not too muak. Coleslaw/vege on the side was also good. The potato wedges wins it for me too. Like I said, you can't taste the oil.

Ukhti's 2-piece Chicken meal - according to her, was quite normal. Nothing to go va-va-voom about. But still, nice.

Restaurant Atmosphere
There are seats inside and outside . I am not sure if they do al-fresco during dinner-time, you know tables and chairs on the walkways.

It is airconditioned, but it was scorching hot on the day we sat down for lunch, we didnt really feel the aircon. But ventilation was good.

From where we were sitting, we can see the staff working about in the kitchen. So i think they have this open-kitchen kinda concept.

In short, I think I'm going for more. I wanna try their submarine sandwiches. If it's as good as Subway's, then I can stop hopping for Subway to be Halal. Hahahaha...!! And also I heard their Spring Chicken is good too!

So if you want to eat in a very lazy atmosphere and at a very affordable price, hop down to Chicken Champ. Easy to find lah. Two doors after Wardah Bookstore, in front of Masjid Sultan.  (Map below)

And on weekend nights, the Nuradee Bros will serenade you with their songs. Nice hor!

exams and after...

i just had my module 5 exam just now. after all that mugging, i still think it was a difficult paper. maybe i didnt mug enuff... maybe the raya break took my revision mojo away. maybe, maybe, maybe... banyak nah alasan aku...

but the mum was a bit worried with the way i was locking myself in the room and only coming out to have my meals or toilet breaks. i think if i had been this disciplined during the schooling years, i might be something else today mwahahahaha...!!

and the dad was worried that i was still at it last night. he was scared i might go blank when i get my paper today. alhamdulillah, nothing of that sort happened.

i just wanted to do well. i was thinking, i have gone this far, i should put my sweat and blood into it. and im not going to take a break with my revision. i will still keep on it. i want to be very fully prepared, if i pass and go on to the next module, inshallah.

now that the exam is over, i have so many things i wanna do. let's list them up...

~ i wanna go karaoke...

~ i wanna go watch Buried, the Ryan Reynolds movie. I love that guy and his abs.

~ i wanna go ice-skating. ukthi Naqi mentioned about this just now, and it got me interested in it. although i know i am terrible with balancing myself. what with this humongous mass of a body uwahahahaha...!!

~ i wanna go eat good food - Wendy's (now that it's halal), another round of Shin Tokyo, another round of Seoul Garden, and another round of a lot of other eateries.

~ i wanna start gymming (yeah, very fairytale this one... and this point and the previous one doesnt seem to gell well together huak huak huak!)

~ i wanna go and just sit by the beach, with a friend, talk my heart out, and take beautiful beach pictures.

~ i wanna start reading my islamic books.

and the list goes on....

now the thing is, where's the time? actually even i dont know what im busy with. it's just that after work, i find myself very tired to do anything else. weekends are usually used up for the family. but it's ok, everyone has 24 hours. if anyone else can find the time, why cant i, correct?

let's see if i can achieve and do all of these... before i start with the books, notes and whatnots.

and dear, i miss you lots. 8-)

this is UTN1 (Unknown To No One), a band from Iraq. I have been loving their songs, right from Lughat Al Ayn. This is another spectrum of their music. They go rock this time round. And I like!!!

PS: Shant, my favourite member from this band, the drummer, is super-sexy this time round. Never mind if he has more white-hair then black-hair. And he's only 30. Hahahaha...!!!

sayang orang jangan melampao, tak tau bila dia bole jadik kebencian kita...

learnt this a long time ago. that's why im quite guarded in giving all ma love to anyone. say im weird, oh yes, im weird.

just saw a bugger's status in fb. penuh dengan maki2an. batal posa aku membaca-nya. then you all will say, "kau pun ngumpat per!" tapi korang tak tau sapa dia kan? and i wont tell too! my lips are sewn together, literally, AND i have scars on my lip to prove that! mwahahahahaha!!!

dia maki2an kan matair, eh salah, ex-matair dia. come on lah. isnt this the person u used to love? the one whom you kept praising "you're my life, no one is comparable to you and God must have been so kind to send me you" and those bullshit. and the amount of 'meleseh' photos you uploaded in your albums. i nearly puked at some, not because i'm jealous, but becoz you said, you wanted a partner who is a wanita muslimah sejati. yah, like real.

now dah break, makin sakit mata aku. i really want to kick you out of my fb, but susat lah kan, you are family. nanti ditanya pulak, "asal tendang aku?" i dowan to lie lah eh. i would have to tell you the truth then. but then, nanti perang mahabharat macamana? nanti sapa yang salah? AKU JUGAK....

that's why i say, no need to love anyone sampai jiwa dan raga diserahkan demi sayang yang tak terhingga kat anyone. even orang dah kawin pun bole cerai, so tak yah nak act lah kalao diri tu dah ada matair. nari sayang, love, mohabbat, pyar, wo ai ni... Besok break, mcm the end of the world.

maybe this is the reason why im still not attached. aku takot dok nak sayang kat sapa2. aku ni kat luar je mcm durian, kat dlm mcm kapas. besok2 dia break my heart, macam mana? wait i break his head how? sapa susah? AKU JUGAK....

no lah, jokes aside. i know we all have love in us. i love a lot of people too. but janganlah melampao-lampao sayang kat orang sampai bila dah tak sayang lagik, jadik mcm orang giler takde agama. renung-renungkanlah ehk?

criter ini takde kene mengena dengan yang idop ataupun yang mati. cuma ada kene-mengena dengan maknusia sekor yang baru putus cintan tu je.

and i really hope dia baca blog aku ni. or better still, pm him/her with this link. mwahahahaha...!!!
