wrong pillow...

salah bantal lah. seriously, i catch no balls to what is the meaning of salah bantal. aku pakai bantal sama jugak. aku tido yang mcm hapa sampai leher terkehel, bantal pulak disalahkan uwahahahaha...!!

but yeah, on Saturday, i woke up with the neck so stiff, i tot i was paralysed. but then, everything else was moving so i got the real story in the end. went to the market with mum to go to bank and the same time to get myself koyok aka medicated plaster. was quite worried too coz that day i had a lot of driving to do.

i think the koyok worked wonders. you all, ditch the tiger balm ones, that one not good. use the Panaflex ones. super magic. alhamdulillah, the pain started to subside.

today, Wednesday, the pain is back. turning left and right possible to do. looking down is the epic to do. and it gets uncomfortable as and when. and got no time to get Panaflex koyok also. chet.

i have yet to do my homework/revision. how to do homework with  a neck like this? how to look at my book and notes?

but in any case, im not going to let this be a reason untuk jadik pemalas. i'm wearing yellow and black today, and i look like a bumble bee, so i shall fight like a bumble bee. akan ku harungi sakit perit untuk jadik orang pandai, chehwah...!

anyway, i had this weird idea in my mind when i couldnt stand the pain just now. i got reminded of the film Shutter. no need to explain ah, i think you all know. but naudzubillah, ni lah otak working overtime. It's just neck-pain Yun, no need to think of anything else. Ok?

wish me speedy recovery!!

Ramayana The Epic - In 3D

i have always been a fan of the Hindu mythology - Ramayan(a) - since i was a little kid. Coz i was bought in somewhat like a indian household, with an overdose of indian movies and songs hehehehe, so the interest was there...

The whole Ramayan(a) epic was so heroic. I tell you a bit, k?

The tale happend in Ayodhya. King Dashrath was to crown his eldest son, Ram, as the king of Ayodhya. Keikeyi, Dashrath's 2nd wife, wanted him to banish Ram and daughter-in-law Sita to the jungles because she wants her son, Bharath to be the king of Ayodhya. Because the King had a favour to return to his 2nd wife, he couldn't say NO and Ram and Sita were ordered to be banished to the jungles. Laxman, Ram's brother followed them.

In exile, Surphanaka, sister of the demon king Raavan, got attracted to Ram and wanted him to marry her. But Ram refuses, saying that he has vowed to have only one wife and that is Sita. Surphanaka then wanted Laxman to marry her but Laxman also refuses saying that his duties are only towards his brother and sister-in-law. Suphanakha was humiliated and in a fit of rage, tried to attack Sita. Laxman cuts her nose off in the fight.

Demon king Raavan got news of this. He promised to kidnap Sita to avenge for his sister's humiliation. Disguised as a saint, he went to ask for food from Sita. But beforehand, Sita was told by Laxman not to cross a 'laxman-rekha' line because both Ram and him will be going out hunting. But because Sita was a soft-hearted person, she made the decision to cross the line and give food to the saint who turns out to be Raavan.

Sita was kidnapped and Raavan wants Ram to come and fight him to get Sita back.

Thus started the war of Ramayana.

And NOW, India has come out with their own 3D version of the mythology. HOW WONDERFUL IS THAT? but sadly, i dont think this movie will ever be shown in Singapore. So I hope for the 2nd best, the DVD. I so badly wanna watch the movie coz why? The promos are amazing. Have a look yourself!!

PS: I've always got a soft-spot for Laxman. The heroic guy who stands by his brother and who is the protector of his sister-in-law although he is Ram's step-brother and the son to Keikeyi, the evil queen. Lucky he looks handsome in this movie. Mwahahahahaha...!!!

Oh! And another trivia, Juhi Chawla has done the voice-over for Sita.

Maybe I can as for this DVD for my birthday present, hehehehe....???? *wiggles eyebrows*

Food Review: Chicken Champ @ Bussorah

me and ukhti had decided that after our exam last saturday, we would have our lunch at the kedai makan 2 doors down that is Chicken Champ by Nuradee Bros.

so on the day itself, i was looking forward to the lunch rather than the exam bwahahahaha... but anyhow, we reached about 1.15pm. pretty empty. and well, i think we know why. Arab Street gets busier when the day gets darker hehehehe...!!!

we took our seats. promptly attended to by a lady staff. 1st thing we asked whether they accept NETs as a payment mode. no NETs, it's all cash. oh ok... so we got down to ordering. i was pondering over fish n chips, black pepper chicken chop or their submarine sandwiches (the ones they say ala2 subway). but then i settled for fish n chips. coz i tot sandwiches won't fill up my tank hehehehe...!! and i've always love fish more than any other meat.

ukhti ordered the 2-piece chicken meal. and we ordered a side-dish - onion ring.

done with the orders, i walked over to Raffles Hospital to withdraw money. coz we have no cash on hand and pity Ukhti, coz she was having a flu. on my way there, Ukhti called to say fish n chips not available at the moment. aik, tadik aku order tak cakap apa2 pun. so settled for the next big thing, black pepper chicken chop.

withdrew money and walked back. still our food hasnt arrived. the drinks were on the table, and shortly after, the onion rings.

ONION RINGS

Onion Rings were good. In fact a little better than Burger King (BK is the only one which sells them, right?). And I dont remember tasting an inch of oil in it. Or maybe I was very hungry hahahaha...!! The only little downside, they dont have the small pirings to put the chili sauce in. But takde hal lah, we just poured chilli sauce over the onion rings itself.

Both the Black Pepper Chicken Chop and the 2-piece Chicken Meal came a while later.

You know, one thing I quite don't fancy about certain Chicken Chop is how liat the chicken is. And it will take me years to chow-down one bite. Al-maklum, gigi kan sensitif mwahahahaha...!! As I stared at the dollops of sauce on the chicken, I was thinking, "Oh dear, this is going to get really messy if I end up using my hands."

I WAS WRONG. The chicken was so soft that it was so easy to cut using plastic cutleries. And taste-wise, I think I would rate it one of the best chicken meals I've ever had. The sauce, although not pure black pepper, it has mayonnaise in it too, is of the right blend of taste. Not too spicy, not too muak. Coleslaw/vege on the side was also good. The potato wedges wins it for me too. Like I said, you can't taste the oil.

Ukhti's 2-piece Chicken meal - according to her, was quite normal. Nothing to go va-va-voom about. But still, nice.

Restaurant Atmosphere
There are seats inside and outside . I am not sure if they do al-fresco during dinner-time, you know tables and chairs on the walkways.

It is airconditioned, but it was scorching hot on the day we sat down for lunch, we didnt really feel the aircon. But ventilation was good.

From where we were sitting, we can see the staff working about in the kitchen. So i think they have this open-kitchen kinda concept.

In short, I think I'm going for more. I wanna try their submarine sandwiches. If it's as good as Subway's, then I can stop hopping for Subway to be Halal. Hahahaha...!! And also I heard their Spring Chicken is good too!

So if you want to eat in a very lazy atmosphere and at a very affordable price, hop down to Chicken Champ. Easy to find lah. Two doors after Wardah Bookstore, in front of Masjid Sultan.  (Map below)

And on weekend nights, the Nuradee Bros will serenade you with their songs. Nice hor!

exams and after...

i just had my module 5 exam just now. after all that mugging, i still think it was a difficult paper. maybe i didnt mug enuff... maybe the raya break took my revision mojo away. maybe, maybe, maybe... banyak nah alasan aku...

but the mum was a bit worried with the way i was locking myself in the room and only coming out to have my meals or toilet breaks. i think if i had been this disciplined during the schooling years, i might be something else today mwahahahaha...!!

and the dad was worried that i was still at it last night. he was scared i might go blank when i get my paper today. alhamdulillah, nothing of that sort happened.

i just wanted to do well. i was thinking, i have gone this far, i should put my sweat and blood into it. and im not going to take a break with my revision. i will still keep on it. i want to be very fully prepared, if i pass and go on to the next module, inshallah.

now that the exam is over, i have so many things i wanna do. let's list them up...

~ i wanna go karaoke...

~ i wanna go watch Buried, the Ryan Reynolds movie. I love that guy and his abs.

~ i wanna go ice-skating. ukthi Naqi mentioned about this just now, and it got me interested in it. although i know i am terrible with balancing myself. what with this humongous mass of a body uwahahahaha...!!

~ i wanna go eat good food - Wendy's (now that it's halal), another round of Shin Tokyo, another round of Seoul Garden, and another round of a lot of other eateries.

~ i wanna start gymming (yeah, very fairytale this one... and this point and the previous one doesnt seem to gell well together huak huak huak!)

~ i wanna go and just sit by the beach, with a friend, talk my heart out, and take beautiful beach pictures.

~ i wanna start reading my islamic books.

and the list goes on....

now the thing is, where's the time? actually even i dont know what im busy with. it's just that after work, i find myself very tired to do anything else. weekends are usually used up for the family. but it's ok, everyone has 24 hours. if anyone else can find the time, why cant i, correct?

let's see if i can achieve and do all of these... before i start with the books, notes and whatnots.

and dear, i miss you lots. 8-)

diam tak beerti kalah...

i swear by this. and i hope i will stay silent. Ya Allah, bestow me the strength to keep my silence and tranquility. You know best. Thank You for giving me this moment of silence. I've benefitted from it much more than I thought I would have lost.
