i saw an article in fb abt hejab, a friend of a friend shared it. it was a good read. and yes, it set me thinking. so i shared it with my friends. here's the article. i think you gotta sign in to fb to view it.

as soon as i shared it, i realised, ok then what if we do really have long hair. long thick hair, and no matter how we try to minimize the bun, it's still visible and people will sure know that the hair is long. will we fall into the 'dilaknat Allah' (Naudzubillah) category?

ok 1st thing 1st, kenapa kita pakai hejab/tudung? pukul rata, sumer org will say, oh pasal nak tutup aurat. tutup aurat tu apa? tang mana tu aurat? aurat wanita, yang tak perlu ditutup, ialah wajah and tapak tangan, correct? don't ask me about why some women wear niqab. that one different category already lah... hehehe...!

is that all? wajah and tapak tangan? have we missed out on anything here? yes, i think we did. tutup aurat also means that we cannot wear see-through/transparent clothings, we cannot wear tight/figure-hugging till can see the bentuk badan clothings. in short, what we wear shouldn't attract eyes to look at us i.e not attention-seeking.

and as with the article, it talks about tying up the hair in a way that people will know there's a head full of long hair underneath the hejab/tudung. and yes, that beats the purpose of being a hijabi. being a hijabi means you are to avoid all straying eyes to you.

but then you will say, pakai tudung per, mana bole attract orang? that's where this hadith takes place. kita pakai tudung, but cara kita pakai tudung tuh, APA NIAT KITA? betul ke setakat nak tutup aurat? atau nak menunjuk bonjolan rambut kita? atau nak tunjuk mahal mana tudung kita? atau nak tunjuk cantik berkilat mana brooch kita?

hah, kat sini baru lah kita faham apa maksud hadith tuh... ikut secara logic, memanglah kalao rambut dah panjang, kita ikat mcm mana pun, still people will know we have long hair. correct? but again, here, everything falls into niat. like the article said, tudung syria memang gaya pakainya must go alongwith a very high bun. so nak tak nak, because of fashion, we are falling into the category of woman showing off their hair, even though the hair is being unseen.

but the thing with hijab, i believe, if we wear it proper, and the main niat is to cover our aurah PROPERLY, InshaAllah, we will be among the women who protect their modesty. the thing that we want to avoid is being an unproper hijabi.

be it tudung syria, tudung turkey or even tudung singapore, the main thing is wear it properly and modestly. we wear hijab but still people will come up to us with, "your hair long ah?" question, we cant help it, can we? but there is always 2 sides to a coin. did we show the bun intentionally? if yes, then this is something we need to change. but if we just couldnt hide that big bun, and our intention was never showing off the bun in the 1st place, Allah knows best. He knows where our niat is, Inshallah.

yo peeps!

when's my last post eh? a week ago, i guess? bz babes bz... actually if you ask me, i donno what i've been bz with. like yeah, seriously.

no lah. actually been bz with volunteer work kat masjid, and then my maulud, and then my combined mother's day celebration... then now, i cringe looking at the amount of wedding invitation cards the mum has magnet-ted to the fridge-door. tiap2 minggu ada jemputan dok. tak nak pergi pun tak leh kan. nanti mak aku ngamok dayak camaner? hahahaha...!! no lah, actually kesian lah mak aku kan, takde org nak drive dia to the jempotans. so since im doing the driving, i've got to show my face, no?

when i was younger (not that im old now, im still 17 ok!?), i hate going to orang kawins. dont ask me why. aku pun tak tau. mcm rimas gitu pada aku. pakai lawa2 just to go and eat nasik briyani/minyak. but now that i've grown, ehem, YOUNGER, i understand lah, time part2 orang kawin ni lah time nak bersilaturrahim... ada betol?

anyway, my dear lip herpes made it's appearance tuesday morning. but it's only 1 single ketol on the lower lip. ntah mcm mana nak get rid of it eh. 2 bulan, 3 bulan skali mesti dia timbol. heran mak. kadang2 mak pk, kalao buang bibir, dia datang lagik tak? ok aku dah start merepek.

what else...? hmmm... oh! this friday marks my 1st day as a netball coach. im coaching a group of girls who is planning to send a team to a netball tournament. at 1st, i tot of playing, but then wait the heart jatuh on the netball court how? almaklum, dah tuek... mwahahahaha...!!! i'll still be running here and there or maybe test my sleeping skills in one or two games, but to take part in the tourney, no lah, i'd rather not. *ushering the younger generation in*

when is father's day? after so many years, dad has hinted something that he wanted. slalu nak carik hadiah untuk dia, kepala mcm nak pecah. ask him, lagik lah no use. his answer will be, "jangan buang duit!" but he just said he wanted something, so maybe i'd cut him in the race and get that something for him before he gets it.  actually aku pun berkenan benda tuh, so i think i'll get a set for myself. heh heh heh.

vesak day, im going on a 1-day trip to JB. yeah, you all may say, yek eleh, JB je. drive sendiri masuk pun bole. I KNOW. i just want to bask in the luxury of being in the bus, BEING DRIVEN, NOT BEING A DRIVER. ada paham?

and LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST, SEAFOOD DINNER IN SENIBONG!! - i've went before to the senibong kelong. the food was delicious!! almaklum aku ni hantu SEAFOOD. hahahaha...!!

Majlis Maulidur Rasul - Post Mortem

first thing first, lemme say, ALHAMDULILLAH... what a success of an event. all the pre-event jitters, the challenges before that were all unfounded. The event was a full housed one, with amazing things happening all around SUBHANALLAH...

the day started very early for us one family. two driving trips to send the things to the event venue. picked the sis up before heading towards the event venue again. and the work eventually started.

stage decoration, chairs arrangement, doing up the bunga pahar, panjat sana panjat sini, decorating the makan area, packing the door gifts (berkats)... the work is endless...

oh, before i forgot. we were sponsored 100 packets of nasi briyani to be given to the 1st 100 jemaah who came to the event. the rest of the jemaahs got karipap. may Allah shower His Blessing upon the people who sponsored the 100 packets of nasi briyani, Inshallah, Ameen.

went home and changed to pretty clothes (mwahahahah..!!), and we were ready for the event.

solat maghrib in jama'ah

the qasidah group came before maghrib and they prayed solat Maghrib in jamaah in the void deck. i didnt join the solat, coz i was setting up my camera, so i solat later. mum said, she nearly cried while doing the solat coz never in the history of 10 years of doing Maulid, that we got this chance of having a strong nearly 50 people doing solat together before the event itself. she said too she felt a really peaceful gust of wind while doing the solat. subhanallah, might be Allah sending his angels to provide retreat for the jamaah, coz it was quite a warm night.

huge projector screens set up

after solat maghrib, the qasidah group which was also the students of our pensyarah, Ustaz TM Fouzy, set up the projector screens beside the stage. we werent informed of this beforehand, so we were quite taken aback. huh? screens for our event? never been done before. what an amazing change.

qasidah began

the event started with qasidah while waiting for people to fill up the open-field. at 1st the trickle of people were quite slow. cuak jugak sey. i was thinking, takde orang datang ke? but as the qasidah went on, more and more people came... in the end, the chairs were not enuff, and we had to spread canvas sheets on any free space we could find for the jama'ahs to sit.

the attar smell that shook me

when the salawat was being said, we all had to stand up. i was right at the back of the field, trying to capture the beautiful moment of everyone standing and saying the salawats. at one point of time, just as i had clicked a few pictures, i smelt a really sweet smelling attar passing by. i was thinking, "sapa punyer minyak attar ni, ya Allah, sedap betol bau." and i turned. NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME. and i stood frozen there, my knees nearly went weak. and the urge to cry suddenly came. what with the salawats are already being said. i walked away to calm myself down. and i told my family what i just experienced. Allah Subhanallah.

there is a hadith saying that when the salawats are being said, Allah will send his angels to spread their wings over all those in the majlis. maybe it might be the smell of an amazing being around us. Wallah, the smell was nothing i have smelt before.

syarahan

the syarahan was so overwhelming. we all know what a great speaker Ustaz TM Fouzy is. he made us cry buckets. i didnt even care if my make-up was smudged or i was looking so red with tears. EVERYONE CRIED, men women young and old. the last part when he said look at our right and left, our sisters and our brothers in Islam, hug them and make du'a upon them. and everyone did just that. hugged everyone left and right. i think everyone cried like yesterday was our last night together on Earth. the impact was Mashallah.

video died and the help that came

we saw a guy at the back of the event, he was video-recording the event. tengoklah, syaitan nak menyocok otak kita2 ni. we were afraid that he might record and then sell the syarahan without our permission. so we sent someone to talk to him. we didnt ask directly about what we thought lah. we just asked whether he was Ustaz's cameraman, but he said, he was recording for his own viewing je.

and just then, i turned to look at the camera that i had set up. IT HAD DIED A PREMATURE DEATH. memang tu camera dah sakratul maut lah, but i tot for the event, it can hold on. skali dia mati lah. nak tak, we had to go to the man again, to ask for his number, so that we can buy the videorecording from him.

MASHALLAH. again we saw Allah's blessings. what are the chances of my video dying and there was someone else who was videorecording the event? what are the chances?

end of syarahan

10.30pm the syarahan was done and everyone started dispersing. and yes, most were red-faced with tears. some even hugged us in uniform and thanking us for organising such an event.

in actual fact, we didnt expect it to be this huge a success. what with projector screens and the 1 hour-long qasidah session, with the wordings being shown on the screens for all to read and follow along. padahal yang bawak screen tu sumer bukan kita pihak penganjur, it was Ustaz and his students. but for the jama'ah who came, they thought we were the ones providing all these. Subhanallah.

dinner

dinner was served and although more VIPs turned out than we expected, the food was enough for all, got lebih for us to bring back also. for this one, i also wanna thank Dyann for the huge help rendered regarding the catering. Thank You Dyann. berkat betol makanan tu sumer, cukup buat sumer orang.

packing and clearing up

we finished everything up, i think about 12am. two trips again to bring the things home. i also wanna thank the extra pair of hands we had yesterday. Thanks Firman, you were a great help. Glad you were around to help. Hope you enjoyed the experience!

reached home at 1.30am after sending Naqi and after we sent Firman safely on a cab !!  slept at 2.30am because we just couldnt stop talking about all the amazing things we experienced over the event.

i have so many people to thank but i'd rather not say the names fearing that i might miss out names. so to all who rendered their help, i wanna thank you from the bottom of my heart.  may Allah provide you more than what you had rendered for the event, inshallah, ameen.

ALHAMDULILLAH. THANK YOU ALLAH.

the one who is still feeling very overwhelmed...

pejam celik, pejam celik...

... dah pun sampai hari dimana aku akan mengadakan Majlis Maulidur Rasul kumpulan ku. chehwah... so babes, how are you people? i've been so mind-boggled with so many things that i think blog ni pun dah collect spiderwebs.

i decided not to take leave today like i always did in my previous years organising Maulid. coz i have piles of work to finish up.

preparations for Maulid? ok lah, alhamdulillah, everything's going quite smoothly for the moment. and i hope it stays smooth till we finish up the event inshallah... this year it's a bit bigger, we are celebrating our 10 years of organising Maulid every year without fail. ALHAMDULILLAH...

mum just called just now. katanyer the khemah people put up the khemah and stage wrongly. told them to call us before putting them up, but they put them up without calling us. mula2 naik angin lah jugak. but then i tot, ah sudahlah, nak naik angin pun tak guna kan, yang penting we get them to come back tomorrow morning to rectify the mistakes.

last previous years, we started our event with bacaan ayat suci Al-Quran. last year we added qasidah and zikir munajat. this year will be a 1 hour long qasidah session. subhanallah... can't wait to be among those standing and saying the praises to Allah SWT and the salawats to the Prophet SAW. i think i might cry too... tawon lepas wa nangis woah... dah gitu eksen gi belakang stage konon nak betulkan camera, padahal tengah melalak huak huak huak...!!

but anyway, it's gonna be a long day tomoro. may Allah keep us in His Guidance and His Care throughout and may the event be a HUGE SUCESS, INSHALLAH....
